Extension Program

NSS Unit

National Service Scheme is a student–centered programme and it is complementary to education. It is a noble experiment in academic extension. It inculcates the spirit of voluntary work among students and teachers through sustained community interaction. It brings our academic institutions closer to the society. It is a link between the campus and community, the college and village, knowledge and action. The overall aim of NSS is the Personality Development of students through community service. It gives an extension dimension to Higher Education system and orients the student youth to community service.


ADSO was formed to sensitise the students against drug and alcohol abuse. The organisation conducts seminars, workshops, rally etc. and also participates actively to eradicate the menace of substance abuse from the campus as well as the society.

Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club Establishing Red Ribbon Clubs in colleges will serve many purposes: educating youth and other members in the wider community on sexuality and HIV/AIDS, development of life skills for students involved, and instilling a spirit of compassion towards people living with HIV/AIDS in our country. Goal To reduce the occurrence of new sexually transmitted infections (incidence), particularly HIV, among youth. Objectives • To increase awareness on sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS • To impart skills on communication, self-protection, negotiation, and effective group interaction • To prepare youth as peer educators/agents of change by developing their skills on leadership and team building. • To encourage blood donations • To serve as forums for students to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS


Village Adoption Programme:

To the credit of Holy Cross Family and with its collective responsibility the students staff and the management ventured in to a new life and culture by adopting a village and pooling in the various resources and possibilities. We are the first college in University of Calicut to adopt a village, and has initiated a number of programs, especially for youth, women and children. imparting vocational training in the fields of Jewellery making, Bag making, Screen Painting, and training in, for short courses in hotel field etc, conducting Spoken English classes, setting up a Library, introducing the methods of Organic Farming initiated in 40 cents of land, activities to make people aware of the evils of Drug abuse and alcoholism, with aim to declare the village drug free.


With the support of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) a help desk was set up in HCIMT, so that the public can directly inform them about corruption or seek help. The new system is bringing a change to the civic body’s progress and works
